The perfect location to meet, eat and drink with friends and family

Do you enjoy the opportunity to go for a nice meal, whether with friends or family, to celebrate or just for leisure? If so, then The Shed should be high on your list of places to visit.

Situated in the historic village of Lode on the outskirts of Cambridge, the distinguished bar and restaurant at The Shed is a perfect location to meet, eat and drink with everyone you enjoy spending time with. It has an excellent selection of carefully selected wines, cask ales and draught beers, which are served all day, and the talented chef has seasonal, local produce delivered every day, meaning that every meal is freshly prepared daily, with all food being freshly made on site.

The Shed serves an eye-catching and mouth-watering array of dishes on its extensive menu. This begins with a good variety of staters including breaded Whitebait as an unusual standout dish. Moving on to the main course, there is a great selection of pub classics, which everyone will enjoy, and these include both vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options if required.

In addition to these, there is also a range of choices from the grill, including a terrific selection of burger options, which can all be served on gluten-free buns. An added bonus to this section of the menu is that on Tuesday evenings between 18:00–20:30, all burgers are on a ‘buy one get one free’ offer!

The Shed also has an ever-changing ‘specials’ board which has different meals all reasonably priced. These boards can be viewed in-house, or they are also advertised on the Facebook page. Sunday lunchtime has the added advantage of the availability of Sunday roast dinners, including either roast rib-eye of beef, leg of lamb, loin of pork or chicken breast, and these can also be purchased as a takeaway.

If you have little ones visiting with you, there is also a good children’s menu, with an interesting variety of dishes to please every appetite, and to go alongside your meals, there is even a tempting range of side options. During the summer holidays as a special treat, you can get one free child’s meal with every adult meal purchased.

However, there is more than great food and drinks available at The Shed, there is also entertainment on offer. Recent events have included a classic Motown and soul evening, as well as an Open Mic night, where talented locals have been invited to show off their talents.

The Shed is a very popular venue for locals and those that will travel for good food also. It has excellent reviews online, with one customer entitling their recent review as ‘family friendly with delicious food’, and another saying “the food was lovely and freshly cooked and a good portion. Service was great and always helpful and friendly. Fantastic chilled relaxed atmosphere.” The average rating from customers on both Facebook and Tripadvisor are very high to reflect the outstanding service delivered.

One unusual aspect of The Shed that customers often mention is the beautiful look of the building itself. One person called it a ‘unique place for a meal’ and continued to mention that, “The Shed is a wonderful place to visit. From the outside it looks like an extended house when in fact it is an ex-serviceman’s club – definitely worth a visit.” The photos on the website most certainly bear testament to this.

The Shed has wheelchair access to the front of the building, as well as baby changing and disabled toilet facilities, with a no smoking/e cigarette policy. No dogs are allowed in the bar and restaurant area but they are welcome in the ever-popular Poolroom.

So, if it is a special occasion or you just fancy relaxing with some great food and drink, you will be very welcome at The Shed.
