Seeking Peace and Quiet at the Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is a holiday home in the pretty seaside village of Moelfre, on the east coast of Anglesey, North Wales. Being only a field away from the Anglesey Coastal Path, it offers peace and quiet and a high level of comfort and quality throughout.

Large and spacious, the cottage is fully furnished and caters for up to six guests and pets are most welcome. The lounge has two armchairs, a two and a three seater sofa, numerous occasional tables, a 37 inch TV and DVD and most importantly for the small and big kids it has Wifi! Also there are lots of DVD’s, books and games. Decorating the room is a large Chinese rug, lovely coastal pictures and occasional lighting. All rooms in the cottage are heated by storage heaters and the lounge also has an attractive log effect fire which creates a warm and cosy atmosphere.

The dining area has a large table with six chairs, a dresser, an antique oak desk and it leads to the conservatory. The modern kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of cupboards, worktops, a full sized ceramic hob cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge freezer, and a washing machine. In addition there are plenty of pans including a steamer set, a deep fryer, a coffee grinder, a filter coffee machine, an electric carver and numerous cutlery, crockery and glasses. The kitchen leads out to the garden and the steps up to the roof garden.

There are three bedrooms, a double, a twin and a guest bedded room with a spectacular sea view, and guests frequently report how comfortable the beds are.Leading from the landing is the doorway to the roof garden. The luxury bathroom has a full sized curved bath, electric shower, electric radiator and under floor heating.

The conservatory is fully furnished with a three piece cane suite, a two seater breakfast table and even a hifi system. It looks out to the lovely and secure back garden where there are two patios, a large one with a table and brolly and a smaller one which catches the sun early in the morning. The new roof garden has proved immensely popular with guests, many of whom have used the large gas fired barbecue to cook their recent catch of mackerel, caught just 5 minutes away, and taken up the steps to be enjoyed on the roof garden, which has a splendid sea view.

The cottage is run by Keith Roberts who first came to live in Moelfre in 1974 and who saw the great potential the cottage had as a holiday home. He looks after the cottage personally and ensures it is always spotlessly clean. He insists that either he or one of his staff greet every guest and escort them to the cottage and give them a friendly and fun tour around, as well as pointing out all the places of interest. He even provides an O.S. map of the island and binoculars for guests to take out with them.

Perfectly situated at the edge of the village, where within a five minute walk you will discover three beaches, a pub, restaurant/tea room, another tea room, a brilliant chippy (with café), and a grocery which also sells newspapers. A five minute drive away is Benllech and this village has three supermarkets, three take aways, a Post Office and a chemist, etc., etc.
