Price is what you pay and value is what you get with Avancon SA, a modern and forward-thinking company that operates within the intralogistics sector. The specialist machine manufacturer predominantly services the automation and logistics industries with its sophisticated avant-garde conveyor technology.
The organisation aims to facilitate the demands of customers with the provision of a new, never seen before technical solution and is pleased to have built itself a promising hardware portfolio of conveyors, actual modules and single components for intralogistics applications. Ever since its establishment in 2014, Avancon has been forging partnerships with customers worldwide whilst promoting the many benefits of employing its ZPC conveyor concept.
The company is responsible for the creation of a self-contained conveyor construction that acts as a more effective alternative to the more old-fashioned prototypes currently in use. The contemporary unit handling systems incorporate an avant-garde roller- and belt-conveyor design that has proven to be incredibly functional and dependable. This is also an environmentally-friendly solution, as it is recyclable and operates with a low noise level in a large range of applications.
As well as being aesthetically attractive, with a ‘silk-like’ anodized aluminium structure, the intelligent yet simplistic system is adapted for real plug-and-play and is incredibly modular. Return on investment is swift due to the fact that maintenance costs are minimalistic and great savings can be made (money and energy wise) for the OEM in relation to programming, assembly and installation.
One of Avancon’s most exciting additions is the Omni-directional Transfer Unit (OTU), which makes conveying in any direction easy. Considered a universal key element for crossings and diverters, this versatile innovation determinates the transporting direction using conveyor systems and OTU-bricks. Manufactured and sold worldwide by Avancon SA, Riazzino/Switzerland via Conveyor Manufacturers, the OTU element has proven a simpler and cheaper means of conveying than transfers that lift pneumatically, diverters that slide sideways, drive belts with built-in wheels moved with underlying belts and diverters reliant on complex pneumatics and shaft mechanisms.
As well as being used as infeeds, switches, diverters, crossing, transfers, sorters and so on, OTUs can be universally combined to ‘OTU tables’ in varying lengths and widths; being adjusted as appropriate to the largest product (for conveying as anything with a flat base, such as a cardboard or plastic box). Made from robust techno-polymers, the product is assembled in dovetail similar forms with a belt and incorporated toothed rack. It also features wheels made from polyurethane that are hidden from outside view, and is generally small in height for money-saving purposes.
If you are looking to source a system that can build crossings, transfers, crosswise movements between two conveyor lines or create U-turns for small curves then the OTU is the solution for you. Available as individual parts for self-assembly or as a complete OTU table (complete with motors and control units), the easy to install element has an alumininum profile which allows seamless attachment by screwing the whole assembled table between or under the frame construction of each conveyor track.
