Innovative new three-channel chemiluminescence analyser (NO/NO2/NH3)

In this issue of Industrial Solutions, we are pleased to delighted to showcase ECO PHYSICS AG as our Industrial Emission Monitoring and Gas Manufacturing Control Company of the Year 2024.

ECO PHYSICS AG offers industry-leading measurements analytical solutions for measurement tasks in applications such as: industrial, environmental/ambient air and research, automotive/aviation & combustion engines, NO in liquids, semiconductors and medical. Renowned in the industry for sensitive chemiluminescence analysers, ECO PHYSICS offer a range from 1% to 1 ppt (part per trillion.)

Founded in 1990, ECO PHYSICS now stands head and shoulders above the competition as a proud, independent Swiss shareholder’s company with an active board of members who are committed to the future growth and success of the company.

With many companies still navigating supply chain issues, the COVID pandemic, rising inflation and energy costs, we asked Dr. Grischa Peter Feuersänger, Extended Executive Board Member and Head of Sales & Marketing about how the company has fared over the last twelve months:

“This year’s sales figures have matched pre-COVID ones, with last year finally seeing public funding for R&D projects, which were previously frozen indefinitely during the Pandemic. The Far East and Middle East have seen the increased impact of climate change, signalling a growth area in environmental research monitoring. Our product line can be supplied box-finish or as an analyser modular system, adaptable to given sample conditions.”

“This year, we’ve focused on upgrading components in our cutting-edge analysers such as temperature sensitivity and data acquisition. Moving forward, in line with sustainable best practice, we’re exploring both stainless steel and 3D printing components, to lower our company’s carbon footprint. Our measurement products suit a diverse range of applications from in-flight, climate change, to industrial, R&D, filter efficiency in cigarettes and vapes to many others. We’re immensely proud of our three-channel analyser: nCLDAL3/8555 CY based on chemiluminescence. This next-level modular analyser offers gold-standard nitrogen oxide measurement, with exceptional speed and reliability.”

The nCLDAL3/8555 CY provides simultaneous measurement of NO, NO2, NOX, NH3, and NOX-amines, with user-friendly interface displays and connectivity with data from other instruments. The detector block vastly improves gas flow paths, with upgraded pressure and temperature independence giving low detection limits. When operated in the electro-mechanical bypass system, this new analyser balances rapid pressure variations within the sample flow. Viewed as the ‘versatile analyser of choice,’ operators can easily adapt it to non-standard applications and it’s universally loved for its simple calibration, with requisite data provided 24/7.

“The nCLDAL3/8555 CY is market-driven and has already proved popular around the world, particularly in: Scandinavia, Korea, USA, Spain and many others. It was a highly successful upgrade on the QAL1 certified nCLD AL2, and has allowed simultaneous measurements in a quicker time frame, compared to two-channel analysers. The overall stability and reliability have been elevated to a whole new level in ambient air monitoring in mobile labs, fixed monitoring stations or installed in racks and air quality monitoring in production plants and offices. The minimum detection concentration is 0.4ppb and the range is 100ppb to 50,000ppb.”

“We showcased the nCLDAL3/8555 CY at Analytica 2024 in Munich and the response from industry professionals interested in nitrogen oxide (NOx) and ammonia (NH3) analysers was phenomenal. It has been successfully launched now in ambient, air, traffic monitoring, speciality gas production and agricultural applications around the world.”

“We’re only a small team of 20 based in Switzerland, with an office in Germany and an affiliate in the US, but we are always forward-thinking, innovative team, with a focus on world-leading measurements analytical solutions. Our global distributor network supports us on this task.”

Back in August, ECO PHYSICS attended the 13th international conference at the Biology, Chemistry and Therapeutic Applications of Nitric Oxide in Stockholm. The Noble Prize Winner and American Pharmacologist: Louis J. Ignarro gave a fascinating talk on Nitric Oxide. He was co-awarded the Noble Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for the discovery that Nitric Oxide acts as a signalling molecule in the cardiovascular system.

“At ECO PHYSICS, we value the scientific contributions of all our predecessors and are honoured to continue with our own pioneering work with chemiluminescence analysers. We’re delighted to be the recipient of The Industrial Emission Monitoring and Gas Manufacturing Control Company of the Year and are excited to move into 2025 with renewed dedication and innovative thinking.”
